Pitch Green is a photo documentary that looks at the issues surrounding the use of football pitches. With this project, I was more specifically interested in the turf in the football stadiums, which has to be produced and maintained to meet FIFA's very demanding specifications. The environment in which the turf grows is not always conducive to good natural development. To overcome this problem, there are measurement technologies that collect data on different lawn surfaces, and tools to maintain or regenerate the lawn artificially. These photographs show my fascination with what goes on behind the scenes of this sport, creating a kind of supernatural imagery that reveals all the excess and extreme technicality of a corrupt business.
